Who we are

Running together under the unifying slogan “For Stronger Schools”, this parent-led campaign will continue the momentum of representing a new chapter for Jersey City Schools in educational advocacy–one where the voices of families, students & community take center stage. A new chapter where sensible & responsible decision-making re-centers the boards focus on what truly matters: OUR STUDENTS.

Sharrock, Richardson, and Doohan’s campaign will center on four core pillars:

  • Accountability: We are committed to responsible oversight of the school budget, including its priorities and spending. This includes moving towards metrics-driven results that families & communities can see and feel.

  • Transparency & Trust: We are committed to restoring trust in the school board by providing clear and open information regarding board decisions, budgets, and academic data. This includes publishing reports on district operations, tracking everything from test scores to building repairs.

  • Communication: We are committed to fostering responsive, professional, and honest dialogue between the Board and the wider community. This includes prioritizing the District and individual school websites so that everyone has the information they need.

  • Success for All Students: We are committed to creating a renewed focus on educating our AI generated the whole child. Whether a child dreams of college, trade school, or entrepreneurship, Jersey City schools should be their launching pad.

“As parents, we envision a school system where the budget is handled responsibly, facilities are well-maintained and teachers, students and staff have what they need to succeed. ‘For Stronger Schools’ isn’t just a slogan for us—it’s a promise to advocate for safe, responsive, & high-quality education for all.”

The “For Stronger Schools” campaign invites residents across the district to join the movement for change, learn about the candidates, find ways to get involved, attend upcoming forums and help shape a future where all children have the opportunity to thrive.
