Who We Are
For Stronger Schools is a parent-driven, nonpartisan campaign running on a platform of Equity & Excellence for every Jersey City student. Jessica Taube, Chloe Williams, Danielle Walker, and Gina Verdibello are four Jersey City residents who have spent their careers in public schools, community organizations, and civic life, working alongside the students, families, and educators this Board is meant to serve.
Together, they bring decades of experience in social work, youth development, community organizing, housing advocacy, nonprofit leadership, and Board governance. They have seen firsthand where the system falls short and what it takes to fix it. They are running because Jersey City's schools deserve a Board that asks hard questions, follows through on answers, and measures success by what students are actually achieving.
This November, Jersey City voters will elect three members to full three-year seats and one member to fill the unexpired term.

MEET THE CANDIDATES
-

Chloe Williams
A lifelong Jersey City resident and proud graduate of Jersey City Public Schools, Chloe has spent more than a decade leading youth development, workforce readiness, and academic enrichment programs for young people across the city. She is running to bring a focus on literacy, responsible technology use, and career readiness to a Board that must prepare students for the world ahead.
-

Jessica Taube
A West Side resident and licensed social worker with 16 years of experience in public schools, Jessica has trained thousands of New Jersey educators in restorative practices, trauma-informed care, and anti-bias approaches and has spent her career building programs that meet students and families where they are. As a parent of two children in Jersey City Public Schools, she has championed accountability in special education and equitable resources across the district. She is running to ensure that every family has a voice and every student has what they need to succeed.
-

Danielle Walker
A lifelong Jersey City resident and parent of three JCPS graduates, Danielle has spent her career connecting housing stability, neighborhood conditions, and school success, working as a JCPS paraprofessional, HUD-certified housing counselor, and community development administrator managing federal housing programs. She is running to fight for well-maintained neighborhood schools, strong support for educators, and a Board that is transparent with families about facilities, resources, and outcomes.
-

Gina Verdibello
A former Jersey City Board of Education Trustee who served as Vice President for two terms, Gina is a nonprofit leader, civic organizer, and parent of three children in Jersey City Public Schools. She brings firsthand knowledge of Board governance, a track record of championing school facilities and expanded programming, and the kind of day-one readiness the unexpired term demands. She is running to restore transparency, rebuild trust with families, and make sure every voice in Jersey City is heard.
FOR STRONGER SCHOOLS
CENTERS ON
FIVE CORE PILLARS
Academic Achievement for Every Student
Every Jersey City student deserves a real path to graduation and beyond. We are focused on raising reading and math achievement, closing outcome gaps, strengthening support for multilingual learners, and ensuring students with disabilities receive the services and timelines they are owed.
Equity Across Every School
Every school in Jersey City should be safe, resourced, and held to the same high standards regardless of neighborhood. We will convene roundtables across the district to hear directly from students, families, and staff about what each school community needs and hold the Board accountable for delivering it.
Stronger School Buildings
Too many Jersey City students are learning in buildings that are overcrowded, outdated, and in disrepair. We are committed to a transparent, long-term facilities plan, public timelines for repairs, and sustained pressure on the state to deliver the capital investment Jersey City has long been promised.
Safe and Supportive School Culture
Students cannot learn and educators cannot teach in schools that feel unsafe or unsupported. We are committed to a strong school climate, consistent student support, mental health resources, effective anti-bullying policies, and full implementation of restorative practices that hold everyone accountable and keep students in school.
Meaningful Board Oversight & Financial Accountability
Jersey City's schools operate on a budget exceeding one billion dollars. Families deserve to see how that money is spent and whether it is reaching students. We are committed to budget transparency, responsible contracting, and clear connections between spending and student outcomes.
